The Observatory of Social Challenges (ODESS) was created in 2021 with the aim of understanding the perspectives of residents in Portugal on various social issues that represent challenges for democracy, social justice, equality and the effective inclusion of different social groups. These challenges include issues such as perceptions of corruption, populism, discrimination against minority groups, gender equality or immigration.
Data is collected through a combination of online and telephone surveys, with quotas for age, sex and region, ensuring that samples are representative of the Portuguese population. Since its creation, five data collections have been carried out. Reports with the main results of these collections will be available soon.
