Susana Coimbra

Susana Coimbra has been a professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto since 1996, where she has taught courses in the field of differential psychology and quantitative methodologies. She is an integrated member of the Culture, Normativity and Diversity Research Group at the Psychology Center for Psychology at of the University of Porto. Her research interests include resilience, discrimination and intergenerational family relationships of young people and adults. She has participated in projects and supervised master’s and doctoral studies that focus on the protective factors that can promote resilience in situations of violence and inequality, particularly among populations in situations of vulnerability (sexual and gender minorities, migrants, refugees and people in situations of poverty and social exclusion). More recently, as part of these projects, she is using the methodological approach of digital storytelling.
